Generate realistic names — bulk name lists for testing
PicoToolkit creates realistic name lists you can copy to clipboard for testing, QA, or demo data. Choose how many names to generate and pick the output format from the selector below. Deduplication and further enrichment are available using other PicoToolkit tools.
How to use
- Open the tool: Generate → Names.
- Set how many names to generate.
- Pick the name format from the dropdown below.
- Click Generate. Results appear in the output area; click Copy to copy all names to clipboard.
Choose name format
Pick how each name should be printed:
- FirstName LastName
- LastName FirstName
- FirstName
- LastName
Behavior notes
- Output is plain text, one name per line (copy-to-clipboard ready).
- The format selector controls how names are rendered (FirstName LastName, LastName FirstName, FirstName only, LastName only).
- The generator produces realistic-looking names and preserves diacritics when present.
- There is no built‑in locale selector or guaranteed unique/sequential numbering — the tool returns random names per run.
- If you need to remove duplicate names after generation, use Remove Duplicates.

Tips & workflows
- To build complete test fixtures, generate names then combine with other tools: Random Email Generator, Random Password Generator, and Random UUID Generator.
- If you need CSV output, copy the names and paste into a spreadsheet, or add columns using Add prefix or suffix or Convert Newline to Comma.
- For large lists, run the generator and then run Remove Duplicates to ensure uniqueness.
FAQ
Can I select a country or locale for names?
No. The current tool does not provide locale selection; names are produced from the internal realistic pool and may contain diacritics.
Will generated names be unique?
The generator does not guarantee uniqueness across very large batches. If you require unique results, post-process the output with Remove Duplicates.
How do I export the list?
Use the Copy button to copy results to clipboard. Then paste into your target (spreadsheet, test data file, or password manager). There is no direct file download in the generator UI.
Are the names real people?
No. Generated names are assembled to look realistic for testing purposes. Do not treat results as representing real individuals.
